Greetings on the behalf of Training & Placement Cell of NPSEI, Pithoragarh

Nanhi Pari Seemant Institute of Technology (erstwhile Seemant Institute of Technology) was established in the ‘seemant’ district of Pithoragarh in Uttarakhand as a constituent institute of Veer Madho Singh Bhandari Uttarakhand Technological University (erstwhile Uttarakhand Technical University, Dehradun), in 2011 by the Government of Uttarakhand to promote the technical education in ‘seemant’ areas of the state.

Our institute provides undergraduate education in five disciplines:

  1. Computer Science & Engineering
  2. Civil Engineering
  3. Electrical Engineering
  4. Electronics and Communication Engineering
  5. Mechanical Engineering

The vision of the institute is to produce a top class Technocrats and Entrepreneurs for the benefit and upliftment of the society.

Planning

Students have trained for the placements apart from the academics knowledge in the various fields. The following mentioned is the complete procedure followed under T&P Cell.

  • Conducting twinning activities with other universities and colleges.
  •  GATE training and Employability Skill Training sponsored by TEQIP III

Placement :

  • Online employability exams
  • Registration on Employment oriented online services & online assessment digital platforms      
  • On-campus placement drive

Mentorship: 

  • Mentors will be provided to examine the individual growth of a student in the above-mentioned fields.

Training and Placement Cell - Rules and Regulations

It is evident to implement certain rules and regulations for the students to maintain the discipline and decorum in the Institute. 

Placement Rules and Regulations:

  1. All students who expect to graduate from the Institute by the end of the academic year and are seeking employment should take part in the activities conducted.
  2. Regular notices are uploaded for the activities planned.
  3. Students having backlogs are advised to inform before appearing for any activity. Such students will be given special guidance for better options.
  4. Students who have acquired their degrees and were not placed in the earlier year will also be informed for off-campus drives provided companies allow such candidates.
  5. Students in the final year are expected to have their resumes. The details in the resume have to be genuine and any student found violating this rule will be disallowed from college activities.
  6. A copy of the resume has to be submitted in the T&p cell for online registrations in different firms.
  7. A copy of the offer letter is required to submit to the placement office.

Training Rules and Regulations:

  1. Compulsory activities are planned for students to cope up with the failings in various fields.
  2. Students not interested in placements may also take online exams.
  3. Pre-final year / Final year students are required to participate in Workshops / Training Programs organized by the Training & Placement Cell on a compulsory basis. It is the responsibility of the student to check announcements/notices/ updated information in the notice boards of the Training & Placement Cell.
  4. Student-Clubs are encouraged for conducting the same types of programs under the student activity scheme.
  5. Pre-final year students are required to participate in Industrial Training at different organizations through the Training & Placement Cell.
  6. Strict action will be taken against students who submit fake internship certificates.
  7. Mentors will be provided based on their specific areas in the internship.

Strong Internship Rules:

An internship is a professional learning experience that offers meaningful, practical work related to a student’s field of study or career interest. An internship gives a student the opportunity for career exploration and development, and to learn new skills. According to Uttarakhand Technical University(UTU), each registered student for B.Tech Programme shall have to complete a minimum of 4 weeks of internship after the completion of the 6th semester i.e, third academic year during summer holidays.

The set of rules are as mentioned below:

  1. Each registered student for B.Tech Programme shall have to complete a minimum of 4 weeks internship after the completion of the 6th semester i.e, third academic year during summer holidays.
  2. Students should focus on skill development, time management, industrial experience, teamwork skills, leadership qualities, multi-tasking, and networking skills, etc.
  3. Evaluation through seminar presentation/viva voce at the institute will be based on the following criteria
    1. Quality of content presented
    2. Proper planning for the presentation
    3. Effectiveness of presentation
    4. Depth of the knowledge and skills
    5. The attendance record, Internship Certificate from industry, daily dairy, departmental reports shall be analyzed along with the internship report.
  4. Each department must ensure the validity and legitimacy of the attendance records and Internship certificates before providing credits to each and every student or else the respective department will be liable/responsible for allowing such fraudulent activities.
  5. Fake certificates from students cannot be accepted and strict disciplinary actions will be taken against them.
